I'm trying not to think of my 70 year old Mom as the 'girl' in these because she's the only person I know who dyes/spins/knits her own wool. I don't think she'd fall for his hipster charm except if he actually bought her a replacement skein from the proper dye lot - you're a dedicated man if you do that ;D
