and this is what my birthday looked like.

You guys...YOU GUYS!!!! I love you all♥ I had just the best birthday a girl could have yesterday♥

I went to sleep the night before, having posted my RBB art post and getting a couple of early to me birthday wishes, it was the perfect set up for the next day wonderfulness.

I woke up to Wendy making me lemon pancakes with raspberry sauce (getting my sweet tooth fed early), yes, you can see the hot steam coming off them. I opened up my new camera that I bought myself back in November after my month of working away. Until yesterday I'd left it in the box, unable to believe that I wasn't going to return it to put it toward car repairs. Ugh. SOOOO yes, pictures will ensue. I haven't had a new camera in 10years and I don't have a cellphone (I KNOW RIGHT) so picture stuff has been hard, and I NEED it for arting and the imaginary new baby we don't have yet and for life documenting in general).....anyhooo..... there were pancakes.

and then present opening...
where I got a sweet little piglet (we love pooh and piglet, we even used a quote of them in our wedding), a beautiful coloring book and pencils, and a linen pencil case with a stitched whale on it, Dean got me a candle that smells like leather so I won't miss him so much while he's gone (I get a gift from Dean every year, it's a twisted tradition), 6 new packs of playing cards for this card game we play, a snowbabies figurine of me in my imaginary convertible with my dog Astro in the back, and two pairs of the most beautiful earrings youve ever seen.

these earrings were a find on etsy, I fell in love with her stuff and I fell hard, she custom made these two pairs for me and Wendy couldn't choose so she bought both, she's been making payments on them for like a year. They're kind of pricey. It blew my mind. She hand makes these porcelain beads, stamps them and rubs dyes and color and waxes them and hand makes the wires, and FUCK will you look at that packaging presentation. I'm all about it. It was like each layer was a gift, the box wrapped in this twine with a handmade button, and then open the box to this crinkled brown paper with a piece of driftwood wrapped in hemp and a handmade bead, a seashell, a dried something or other, and then lift it off to see my GORGEOUS earring underneath, geesh,  FUCKING LOVE THEM!!!  it was a real surprise, I had no idea.

Then we ate cupcakes and tiramisu gelato, Wendy made the cupcakes from scratch, vanilla bean with buttercream frosting, they were to die for, and the dogs sang happy birthday OF COURSE. Astro lives for singing time.

And then we played cards and parchessi (we're vicious game players)

Wendy baked me brie with apricots and made crab rangoon wontons....

for dinner made me mussells in garlic white wine sauce with a hint of mustard....

In between all the lovely food my wife made and the family funtime, I ran back and forth to my computer, recieving all the love from you guys, with posts, videos, fic, pm's, shoutouts, emails, picspams, virtual gifts....it was alittle overwhelming. In fact while I was compiling a thank you list for this
post I started to cry, real tears you guys............we are all so lucky to have each other, it's a really special thing.

AND on top of it all these wonderful comments on my RBB art. I love this fandom.

This post is getting long, I think I'll do my thank you's in another♥♥♥ and then you can look forward to what my kid calls the "pet paparazzi" shots. lol.

Packaging can make a present even better and that box with the earrings is gorgeous! What a treat to unwrap:)

my presents were the best, but Wendy has always been a creative thoughtful gifter....and yeah, the girl can cook, I actually taught her to cook and we used to split that duty 50/50 but she really loves it and mostly cooks everyday now, altho I usually take over the holiday cooking. We're vicious game players too! ...I see a game of strip something or other in our future.*eyebrow waggle*♥♥i love you more♥♥

awwwwww thank you, I did have just the bestest day ever. I think Wendy got the pancake recipe off pintrist, she says they never fail her....I don't know exactly how the earrings are made, I know they're porcelain and kiln fired and there is hand rubbing (LOL) and waxing involved...she's an artist that's for sure, she's a Brit, they came from England.
