Google searches FREAK ME OUT!

I'm at the tail end of this podfic overhaul I've been doing.

Current count: 841 hours

All neatly organized with podfic as it's genre and coverart. YAY ME!

lavishsqualor has fucked up cover art links on her journal....yes, I'm calling her out. *G*  and so trying to find her coverart floating around the web I google image ...lavishsqualor podfic.

Often I do this and lots of random podfic covers come up, and I'm like oooooo pretty, do I need that one, do I have that downloaded *adds to list*, WTF is that? and about 1 out of 10 are successful with the actual cover.

THis time, it's a couple of random  podfics...



and then for the first time ever I see MY PODFIC COVERS, kinda weird and freaks me out.

I have now come to the realization that I probably mentioned lavishsqualor in these posts on my lj, and that's why I'm linked like that. It just completely freaked me the fuck out at first. I have never had a pic of myself come up on a google search, let alone 3 of them, and my porny podfics too. huh. I'm googling everyone on my flist. *G*

I think Google does do that thing of giving you what it thinks you want based on previous searches. So regardless of what I'm searching for, dog food, theatre tickets, whatever, if I go to images there will always be a picture of Jensen. Always. I love google : ) x

I love that too, I'm happy to see wincest when I do a google search, delighted to have jensen and jared are in love show up in my youtube sidebar, but I'm alittle freaked out to see personal pictures of myself from my lj account.

Yeah, that is a bit worrying but it is the internet, if it's up there, anyone can see it...forever!
At least it's not embarrassing porn that you did when you were twenty and really wish you had burnt the negatives and not let your sleazy ex-boyfreind keep them *coughs* coz that would be bad.

I'm thinking about f-locking everything but my fics as I do know people on here from RL but they don't know I'm me (if that makes sense) and I'd rather it stayed that way but I think it might make a difference to the google thing as well x

LOL - It's mildly creepy that 3 of my podfic covers show up as well as 2 icons that I routinely use on LJ.

There's the "minimize my journal's inclusion in search engine results" in the account settings page, but I still see my stuff on google. Maybe it's less than it would be, but there's ways that google grabs stuff, like off of other user's friends pages, or photobucket.
