I love having a DEAN moment....

So I'm obsessed with getting an engagement ring. Wendy and I got matching gold bands
to mark 10 years together and I am so over them. I want something sparkling, I'm shallow
and like a bird like that, feathering my nest with tinsel.  So we went ring shopping and I
am in love, IN LOVE, with blue diamonds now and I'll post a bunch of pics at the end and you
all can chime in, cause I'm SO INDECIESIVE!!!!!! but before that decision came this....

....here's the funny. I'm at Zales. I have it narrowed down to a top 3 (which I feel is an amazing
feat) and the salesgirl is holding these 3 rings while I go back and forth about them,
when suddenly
Wendy says "HUH! WHAT WOULD DEAN DO?"
OMG!!! I say, what WOULD Dean do?
The salesgirl chirps in "I don't know who Dean is, but should we call him?"
I'm laughing now, "I would love to call him....but he's my tv boyfriend....soooo"
The salesgirl doesn't miss a beat. "do you know his birthday?"
Me "OMG!!! we have the same birthstone, I totally forgot that, I should go with the garnet"
Wendy "If you go with the emerald you'll always think of his eyes"
Salesgirl Extrodinaire "Is he a classic guy?"
*gasp* (side note: I say this in RL all the time about him, Classic boy Impala not included was my first fanmix,
in fact I have something about it etched on the back of my ipod) I mean who says that?
Me "YES HE IS!"
Salesgirl Extrodinaire "Diamond, he'd get the diamond"

fuck, she's good....not only is she feeding into my delusions without blinking, she's convinced me
to get the diamond. LOL.

 

Now....everyone please comment on which ring it is that is blinding you with it's amazingness, I'm waiting to dream that one of them is on my finger....my way could take awhile!

I'm totally voting for the princess cut and the bottom left. I had one in my engagement ring and those things sparkle from across the room. Also it has a classic, simple feel to it and an elegance w/o being ostentatious.

ooooo so many pretties! I think it's between the second and third ones! though I am kind of more drawn to the second one (but then also I kind of like the "simplicity" of the 5th one haha) but yes! I like the second one best I think.

I like a bit of simplicity with my shiny, so my eye went straight to the square cut one, no. 5. But the last one with the double band is really, really nice. Kind of floral.

The square is definitely the favorite it seems. But then the round one. ugh....I tend to go with crazy and unique mixed with really classic. I think the blue diamond is the crazy part, maybe I need to go simple.

They are all lovely. I'm not much of a jewelry fan. I go for some kind of celtic knot in silver, but that's me. I think any of them would look wonderful, thought I have to say that last one on the bottom right sings out to me. Are you both getting one, or are you the only 'featherer' : DDDD

I wish I you were here for an acurate audible portrayal of said singing. lol....Wendy was perfectly happy with her band and we weren't going to re-exchange rings at all until I found her this one. It's handmade and with a matching blue diamond to mine. Now she a convert!!!

Definitely the princess cut. It has a wonderful vintage look to it. Also, on that ring the blue stone stands out and says "Look at me!" Whereas on most of the other rings the blue stone is overwhelmed by all the clear ones.

I am not following the crowd! My favorite is definitely the third to last, the one with the swirly bands. ugh, I adore it. But let's be honest, here, I ADORE THEM ALL! Looooove the blue diamond (and I totally creeped your comments w meus, and ADORE Wendy's new band!) On a more serious note, I also looooove the second last two, so I support the mass decision! lolol.
