Day 2 of Pod_Aware Week! It's like SHARK WEEK on animal planet but with less thrashing and blood.

I thought about a serious rec post today but alas I was sidetracked. Yesterday I listened to pennyplainknits give
a very inspirational podcast about podficcing. She said she usually picks stories to record based on what she loves
and wants to keep and listen to....and she mostly listens to her own podfic. Now this should maybe not have been
such and "AH HA" moment for me but it was. And I thought about my list and all of my favorite stories that I print
out obsessively like the crazy OCD person that I am and wondered hmmmm , what if I recorded them? even just
for myself to listen to, it certainly saves on printer ink *G*

So I downloaded Audacity (free software), grabbed my son's gaming mic, and recorded a fic today. No shit. I thought
I would cringe at the sound of my voice like I sometimes do on the answering machine but I barely even recognized 
it as me.  And it was fun....and I even edited it alittle....and made cover art...and transferred it to an mp3...syncd it to my 
pod.

You guys!!!! I am like a fandom butterfly this week.  DO YOU SEE THESE FUCKING WINGS FLAPPING???
First a fanmix and now this....when will this madness stop??
Working like the backwards reject I often am, I contacted the author and got her permission to podfic the story and 
may actually rerecord it and send it out into the universe...cause I don't think it was half bad. I give the credit to my
kids ridiculously expensive Turtle mic set, which apparently does all the work for you :) Must be the same one
Britney Spears uses. I did not! I did! Britney's my little sex kitten *purrrrrr* but I don't love her for her singing.

By the way: Today's theme is blanket permission. It's quite the opposite of doing it for your own pleasure and 
asking after the fact  *suitably embarrassed*. Hit up pod_aware for more info!

OMG, I am so happy that you made a podfic!! I also listened to penny's podcast yesterday and thought she was really encouraging. If I hadn't already posted podfic I think her podcast would have encouraged me to do it. I'm glad you were inspired. I hope you eventually post it, I'm dying to listen!

I really can't believe I did it...I couldn't sleep last night I was wound so tight. I would love if you would listen to it. You're a few steps ahead of me in this game and any help/advice would be appreciated :) I'm set up to do some more recording today, just practice alittle more...aahhhhh...wish me luck!

It feels great, doesn't it? I would absolutely love to listen to it, send it over! I'm still very much a beginner but I'm happy to help if I can. I found that once I started, I didn't want to stop. It's definitely cut into my fic-reading time and other activities. It's addicting!

I haven't recorded in days because I have this horrible chest cold and my voice sounds like someone took a cheese grater to my throat. I miss it. I think I might record my next story before my voice is back to normal simply because I can't wait. Hope it doesn't sound weird. LOL!

Yay! Consider this official encouragement for you to post podfic. Especially since I figure it will be SPN and I am a selfish creature. :3

I will be nothing but selfish with my choices...which means Sam/Dean over and over again...although this one that I'm fiddling with is Dean/Lisa in Lisa's POV. Perhaps that's why it seemed easier for me to contemplate tackling :)
