Meme question for EVERYONE!!!!!!!

I've been so enjoying everyone's answers in this December meme....I have a question I'd like to pose to y'all if anyone wants to answer it.

When I read J2 fic, I have this mushed together image of their house in my head....I don't know where it came from but it is clear as day, I could blueprint it out. The front porch, the attatched garage, the hook where they hang their jackets, the view of the kitchen from the front door, the side wall where the stove it, the little table near the front door where they often have "I can't wait to have you another second sex"...it's a very sturdy table....etc etc....

The question is do you guys have something like this, is it fixed, does it change from fic to fic? Tell me about it. I really wanna know.

For me it definitely changes from fic to fic. Depends on what the author describes, how they decribe the rooms and yes, actually the feeling of the whole premises.

Even in non-AU fics, it always changes, though I definitely should include the table near the front door where they often have "I can't wait to have you another second sex" from now on.

Nope! It changes, depending on my boys, which I hopefully manage to make different and distinguishable from each other. Although...I'm not sure I've ever written a house-layout into a fic...

ooo very interesting question and hmm lol *tries to think of what I think* LOL if only I had an interesting answer lol I think I more often than not have them living in apartments lol and they mostly look the same in my head, just like a cool tv/movie apartment lol

for a house though? yes to always having the little near the front door lol and also having a nice big laundry room for Jensen to dance in ;P and I sometimes think of them having one of those like u-shaped couches lol and I dunno I clearly haven't paid enough attention to this lol

For me the situation and setting shimmers from fic to fic. It's not their location so much as their ages that stay the same for me. I think even if it's set at a certain age/time in their lives I can't shake the image of 22 year old Sam and 26 year old Dean. The later fics I've written/read I actually struggled with picturing them older.

I never really think about this when reading fic except for red like blood, probably because golden's writing is always so vivid and detailed, including house layouts. plus I'm always knee deep in houses and floorplans when picspamming for rlbivob.
I like that big sturdy table...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

For me it definitely changes from story to story, especially since most of my stuff is AU.
But I love that you have such a clear vision in your head, kind of comforting.
