As always I went for a mixed media look with embroidery and quilting and fabric and a bit of digital magic. Lots of hand-dying with the teapot and the China Girl, well actually it was the opposite of dying, it was discharging with bleach, but potato potato, one of those has a soft a, I just realized they look the same, lol. (They are almost obnoxiously bright I know, but this IS Oz, so I thought it appropriate.)

Woah, I just love your art style and experimenting with materials so much. This is an explosion of colour yet with a stillness within through the ladies with their eyes closed.
The different structures add such a great feel to the collage and I adore the lettering you did.
The hearts of the poppies are embroidered lines too, yes? However you did it I would love to see you work on these <3

yup, the poppy middles are stitched too, these two pieces were mostly done with the magic of paper backed fusible, it's something I use alot in my RL "work" and so it just popped into my head. After everything is backed with the fusible, you can draw reversed on the paper side or free cut out shapes like I did with the poppies and the corn...then it's just layering and collaging and ironing on. The emroidery pieces, like the "Dream On" and Charlie/Dorothy are stitched seperately and then I fuse them as well. Due to time constraints this lettering was done by digital magic (I know, what a cheat I am,lol)♥
